My Art

Lots of areas bring inspiration to my artistic environment, from color and pattern, to books and TV shows. Weaving with bold, bright colors relating to whatever inspired the piece is a must for me. Because of this, I'm always looking for the next work of art in hiding. Some of my favorite pieces have come from book covers, while some of the most interesting came from requests from friends. They textures I use are almost entirely based on which colors I'm trying to capture, leading to some truly beautiful color and texture combinations.

Frequently asked questions:

How do you price your weavings?

Pricing is based on the size of the weaving and the fibers used in each piece, since no two weavings are exactly the same, the differing prices on similar sizes are reflected as such.

Do you take custom orders or do commissioned pieces?

Yes! I do take on a limited number of commissions per year. Please contact me to reserve your spot.

What is the process of a custom weaving?

It all starts with a conversation! Ideally, if you like a piece I’ve created before, that’s a great starting point for us to discuss the colors, size, and texture you’re looking for. A quote and timeline will be provided once we determine the exact dimensions and design of the piece. From there an invoice will be sent to you via email so payment can be completed. A full payment is expected before I begin working on your piece. Pictures of the piece will be provided throughout the process for you to approve the progress made. Limited adjustments can be made once the piece has been started thus approval will be required from you before I further work on the piece to ensure the weaving is exactly what you would like!

I don't trust the mail. Do you deliver in person?

If you are in the Amarillo, TX area, I do accept pickups and will deliver within a 20 mile radius if needed. Contact me if that’s the case and we can work it out!

How long does a weaving usually take?

With a full-time job, I’m more of a weekend/post 5 o'clock weaver so the time it takes to finish a larger piece varies. Size of the piece is also a factor, so for smaller pieces, I would say a two weeks, for larger ones can get up to two months! Customs may take a little longer then the usual amount to accommodate approvals needed.

How often do you make new weavings?

You can find me working on a weaving almost every evening. My goal usually is to have at least one new piece per month, but based on size it may take a couple of months before I’m working on a new one or I may have cranked out 2 or more within a 30-day span!

What kind of materials do you use when making a weaving?

It’s quite the variety! Some of my favorites are fine merino and alpaca wool imported from Turkey, Bulgaria, and Australia, velvets and ribbons hand-dyed, core-spun wool made by artisans in Tibet, Egyptian cotton, art yarn that is handspun, and even some artificial fibers from local craft stores as needed.
